Eliot. It was first published in 1922. After it had been printed in London in The Criterion, it was reprinted in New York in The Dial.   In "The Waste Land," Eliot delivers an indictment against the self-serving, irresponsibility of modern society, but not without giving us, particularly the youth a message of hope at the end of the Thames River.      The Waste Land is an epic poem. Broken into five main parts with 434 lines, The Waste Land is one seriously long poem. Epic poems are generally lengthy narrative poems, and Eliot's poem could certainly be classified as such, even though the poem itself does not follow any sort of defined story line.             Characteristics of 20th Century Literature.             Introduction :  Before the 20th Century, literature was pretty straightforward; the narrators were reliable, the timelines were linear, and the perspective was clear, but then somebody got the idea to mix it up. The movie provided a look into world of the great depression by people who lived it . Different elements of the movie portrayed the different difficulties of the in that era . Charlie Chaplin morden times criticizes the growing industrial and mechanical nature of society through hyperlrolic action by the main character and varying reactios thereafter. Morden times the circumstances and ideas of the present age...... And contemporary world. A young girl whose father has been killed in a labour demonstration , She is very hungry and no bosdy help , support her . And she tries to streal a bread . In the time no one does the help of the others. Mercury is found racism in the time and the poor man also did not get a job.
