Lecture on Metaphysical poetry


      Metaphysical poetry by R.k Mandaliya .


     The first lecture started on the 16th to 18th August 2019 by R.k Mandaliya from   S.P  University, English department,M.k Bhavnagar University.

     I attend only one  lecture I feel like he teched very well and I liked his teaching because he teaching a very simply and he uses the simple language. So that the students are better understanding.

      " The sun Rising".

   
     "The sun Rising"  poem is written by John Donne. he was expess his feelings through this poem. This poem through he was expess his love for his beloved.

  "  Death Be not proud ".


     " Death Be not proud"  this poem is best example of metaphysical poetry.
death is the best for free of body.some people fear of death. but poet say that no one can  permanent in the world.so except the death.

  " Flea" .

        " Flea"  this poem is also famous poem of the mataphysical perty. He uses image and insect for express his love for his beloved.he convince his beloved not refused his love.
  

    " The Dream ".

   
    " The Dream"  this poem about poet's images for the phantasy and reality.  Poet express the reality is not enjoyed but the phantasy is enjoying. Phantasy is the better than the reality.

 

      " Sweetest love I do not go".

  
      " Sweetest love I do not go" by John Donne is a poem is about death in love. This poem is most beautiful and touching.
Poet say his beloved not to be sad because fast approaching physical death.

     " The Estacy".

       
  This poem is like spiritual poem .
 This poem about the journey from body to soul. And poet  must have gone through the Geeta.
Poet express spiritual love for his beloved through the Geeta.

 Started in the 17th century England  it is seen a blood and ingenious conceits.
Metaphysical drawing sometime forced parallels between apparently dissimilar ideas or things.
Subtle though and paradoxes, direct use of language, rhythm derived from living speech.

 * Psychological analysis ÷ 

Emotional, love , religion.

 *Imagery÷

   That is novel ,unpoetic and sometimes shocking draw from the commanplace or the remote, including the extend metaphor of the metaphysical conceit.

 * Simple diction÷ 

      Echoes the pauses and breaks of every day speech.

   * Metaphysical conceit÷ 

           Far fetched and ingenious extended comparison use by metaphysical poets to explore all area of knowledge uses unsual analogies for the poets ideas in the startingly obscure or the shockingly commonplace not the usual  stuff of poetic metaphor.
