The origins of British cultural meterialism have been critic Raymond William and cultural meterialism makes analysis based in critical theory in the traditional of the frankfurt school.

Meterialism is the philosophy that everything can be explained in terms of matter, or the idea that goods and wealth are the most important thing.
Culture meterialism is a theory which views cultural as a productive process and meterialisnist belevieve that human behaviour is part of nature.
New Historicism is a form of literary theory.
We know that the new Historicism it's a part of literary theory and it's goal is to understand intellectual history through literature.

New Historicism it's based on   the ideas that literature should be studies and interpreted within the context of both the history of the author and the history of the critics.

The term new Historicism was coined by Greenblatt when he "collected a brunch of essays and represented something called a New Historicism".
Richard has been called the father of new criticism.he was one of the first to study literary interpretation as a kind of science and the founding father of Historicism Stephen Greenblatt.

Foucault's influence on new Historicism Foucault based his approach both on his theory of the limits of collective cultural knowledge and on his techniques of examing a broad array of documents is Oder to understand the episteme of particular time.

His contribution on new Historicism his theory about the power, knowledge and discourse.
In 1970 Michel Foucault wrote about relationship, power, knowledge and wanted to reconnect that all human systems are symbolic and that works written could be related more to the reader when they know the time period culture,or political movements. His best known works include" Disciplines and punish ".
We can define culture as "a particular way of life", a way of life".
Includes a lot of things like traditional, values and believe, behaviour, everyday activities, rituals Norma's and rules, objects and much more.
Popular culture, four types of popular culture.

High culture :.  consists of the text and practices considered elite or of the highest class such activities as opera, classical music,battler ,works of art that hang in art museum, and so on are categorised as high culture.

Low culture :. Is generally thought to be the equivalent of popular culture .low culture is a derogatory term of from of popular culture that have mass appeal.its contract is High culture which can also be derogatory.

Mass culture : in the 1920s send keyboard foucuse to media the 1920s looked much different than today as the country become more modernized mass culture is the set of ideas and values that arise when people are exposed to the same sets of information repeatedly.

Folk culture : is typically individually crafted and it's produced and distributed and sold on 
local level thinkers of such folk crafts, music,lord, ... there are often types of folk culture.

Modernism  : refers a global movement in society and culture that from the early decades of the twentieth century sought a new modern industrial life and it's has also been driven by various social and political agendas.

Postmodernism : 
 was after coined by Arnold Toy been  early in the century to refer to the last quarters of the 19th century, a time where capitalism and imperialism and western civilization in general began to decline.

Postmodernists writer's:

  #  difference between modernism and postmodernism:

Modernism :

* Late 19th century to world war 2nd .
* Naturalism .
* Modernism criticism on rich people.
* Based on Western, European.
* Logically thanking.

Postmodernism : 

* After world war 2nd
* Realism.
* Human nature ( examine).
* Against modernism.
* Reaction of modernism.
* Irrational thanking.

Postmodernism : is composed by two parts , post and modernism.
Past is Latin for " after" and modernism refers to " Modern period".
This means the era after modernism.
