Arundhati Roy  : 
Full name Suzanna Arundhati Roy is an Indian author.  Roy's father was a Bengali tea planter and mother was a Christian. She is best known for her novel . The God of small things.


Born: November 24, 1961 Shillong,  Meghalaya,  India.

She was Indian author , actress and political activities who was best known for the award winning novel.
The God of small things 1997, And for her involvement in environmental and humang rights cause.

Sydney peace prize 2004.
Booker prize 1997.
 National Film award for best screenplay 1989.

In 1995 she wrote two newspaper articles claiming that Shekhar kapur's film Bandit queen exploited Phoolan Devi one of India's most wanted criminals in the early 1985 and a heroin of the oppressed The God of small things.it has been translated into so many languages Urdu  and Hindi.

Arundhati Roy and her first husband Gerard Da Cunha would sell cakes in Goa for a living. She did various odd jobs afterwards such as aerobics instructor and artist.
Roy also got into acting. Her second husband filmmaker Pradeep Kishen cast her for a minor role in the film Massey Saab. She later wrote for a television series on India's independence movement and on two films, Annie and Electric Moon.

She came into prominence when she criticised Shekhar Kapur's blockbuster, The Bandit Queen, where she vehemently protested against the atrocities on women shown in the movie and its effect on the audience.

Roy has been involved in many social and environmental movements. For her outspoken propaganda on behalf of oppressed people, she has received the Lannan Cultural Freedom Award in 2002, the Sydney Peace Prize in 2004, and the Sahitya Akademi Award from the Indian Academy of Letters in 2006.

She has also written against many government policies of India, Sri Lanka and US. She was recently criticised for calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nomination, 'a tragedy' and calling Modi the "most militaristic and aggressive" prime ministerial candidate.
 She also returned her Sahitya Akademi Award in protest against recent cases of social and religious intolerance in India.

This novel about fraternal twins, Estha and Rahel. They're parents Ammu and Baba.   Father was bad man and drunker , mother's relation with others person velatha.
Chacko he was brother of Ammu.
And he was married with Marget and his daughter sopheie. 
And Chacko's wife  escap with her lover Joe.
And Ammu and Chacko both are comes home in Ayemenem.
And Rahel goes with his father Baba. 
And Estha and Rahel both are separated.
After the long time  they meet and toward the end of the novel the twins have sex. Both are understand each other.

 This novel about the love between brother and sister. This novel is a good but the last secen is not appropriate. they are things that no one can understand them And love. Even family members and society..

In the novel so many characters and so many events like Godhra train burning and Kashmir insurgency, also discussion about the intersex  Homan ( hijra) etc..
The narrative space across decades and location but primarily takes place in Delhi and Kashmir.


The main point  in the novel  Aftab was hermaphrodite born in old Delhi and raised as a boy . and he opts for gender reassignment surgery. Aftab is reborn as a Anjum glomoriuas women.
And in the central of novel political , and society etc ... This novel also good novel because so many things in the novel.
